Family Worship Guide

Family worship: Romans 11:1-10
Private worship: Deuteronomy 9:6-10:11, Hosea 6-7, Proverbs 4, Titus 2

Discussion questions: Has God rejected his people? What do these passages say about God? What do these passages say about me? What do these passages say about the relationship between God and me?

PRAY

Adoration: God is holy, mighty, gracious, and merciful. Spend time declaring your love for Him.

Confession: Continually confessing your sins to God and asking for His forgiveness will keep you from taking the great price Christ paid on the cross for granted.

Thanksgiving: Express your thankfulness to God for the blessings He has given you. When we consider that we deserve punishment because of our sinfulness, and instead God gives to us His love and mercy, our only response should be one of thankfulness.

Supplication: Pray that God will be glorified in tomorrow’s worship gathering.* Ask God to show you how to see and respond to the needs of others.

MEMORIZE

Be sure to review scripture memory verses and catechism questions from previous weeks!

Scripture: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” –Philippians 1:6 (This scripture has been set to music by Seeds Family Worship. Listen online or purchase the track.)

Catechism:
Q. What is the second commandment?
A. The second commandment is, Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them: for I, the Lord thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments (Ex 20:4-6; Deut 5:8-10).

*If your church gathers for worship on a day other than Sunday, adjust the prayer guide as necessary.
